Metrology in manufacturing in the energy industry

The rotor hub is only one example of the enormous demands that arise in quality inspection during the manufacturing of parts for the energy industry. This central part contains the three rotor blades as well as the drive shaft, which transmits the rotary motion to the generator. The maximum deviation from the exactly circular shape of the bores in the rotor hub can only be 30 micrometers at max. If the deviation is higher, the customer would immediately return the parts to the manufacturer, because the cost risk for replacement would be too high.
